HOW TO REACH CLEAR COUNSELING

Rev. David Young, LMHCA, MMCHC, MDiv
Pastor David is married to his wife, Sandy; they have three grown children and four grandchildren. He has served in the Pastoral Ministry – shepherding, revitalizing, and planting churches since he began ministry in 1996 after Seminary. Although offering spiritual guidance and Biblical counseling have been vital aspects of his preaching and teaching ministry, David felt the call to pursue Mental Health Counseling in the summer of 2019. He enrolled at Colorado Christian College and earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022.

I enjoyed my counseling experience with David. I have seen another counselor before, but I found this experience much more helpful. I have been in a season of transition and some difficult friendships. David always made me feel comfortable and was easy to talk to. He helped me to find better and more Biblical ways of dealing with difficult relationships and my own anxiety and overthinking. I would recommend him to anyone local who might be looking for counseling, and deeply appreciate the time he has spent with me!
Married Young Female Recovering from Past Toxic Relationships
I never thought I would need counseling as I pray, read my Bible and consider myself a rather positive person. That said, I was so wrong! David was able to help me process and see more clearly the root cause of my difficulties in being in relationship with my parents. They are getting older, and I want to honor them and not be uncomfortable with them. He gave me such great tools to be able to do that … and the application is working!
Relational Struggle with Parents as They Age
Working with David has made a significant difference in my life. During one of the most painful seasons of my life, navigating the discovery of my husband’s porn addiction, David walked alongside me with empathy, wisdom, and unwavering support. He helped me work through the deep self-esteem issues that surfaced, guided me in understanding addiction from a place of both compassion and clarity, and played a vital role in helping me begin the process of rebuilding trust and confidence, both in myself and within my marriage. I felt heard and respected. David also provided solid biblical counsel, which was incredibly important to me and deeply grounding throughout the healing process.
Young Wife Struggling through Her Husband’s Addiction
I’m so thankful that a friend referred me to David at Clear Counseling. David is very down to earth and has a strong biblical background, which is something we were looking for in a counselor. I love that he asks to open and end with prayer. David makes you feel comfortable and takes the time to listen and help you open up. …From marriage counseling, to helping our teen, David has been wonderful. Whether our teen wants to talk for an hour or only fifteen minutes he is understanding and willing. If you are seeking counsel we highly recommend David!
Wife and Mother Dealing with Extraordinary Circumstances
David has helped me in so many ways. When I first started meeting with him, I was about ready to give up. I had so much anger, hate, and sadness in my life from past traumas. My anxiety was through the roof. David helped me by at first listening, and then by helping me understand my feelings – while valid – may have been untrue. Seeing David is truly one of my best decisions. Since starting to see him, my life has changed drastically. David helped me and for the first time in 25 years I no longer have a sense of dread and I was able to let go of the past.
Married Young Man Battling Anxiety
David ministered to me spiritually while also addressing my intense grief. His knowledge of God’s Word is extremely comforting. Every emotion that poured from my soul was met with the balm of Scripture, a promise of hope, and reassurance that I would not go through this alone. With the help of the Lord, David is helping rebuild my psyche while patching the wounds to my soul. He is helping me to find my way back to a relationship with God that I had neglected while caring for my husband. My journey through grief is not over. It may be many months before I find relief, and while that thought seems a bit daunting, I can honestly say I have more hope and faith than I have experienced in years.
Widow Overwhelmed with Grief
Working with David Young at Clear Counseling has been essential to the progress I’ve made spiritually and mentally over the last year. I was struggling with making good decisions based on reason and logic vs. emotion. David has been a kind, gentle, listening ear with sound advice that helped me wade through the muddy waters of my life choices to reach a place of clarity. I’m excited about what lies ahead for me and am very appreciative of the time and help David afforded me. It was critical to the change that has happened in my life.
